T-shirt Quilt Complete

It is finally completed. Some machine quilting, some tying. No batting. Ahhhhh feels good to complete it!

A number of great lessons from this project. Not sure if I will do another anytime soon - need to recover from this one

Lesson learned....

As I got past the challenges with stitching the quilt, I realized a big mistake - place batting in wrong place so when I went to turn quilt right side out, batting was on the outside!

I think this was a blessing because the dorm is so hot that batting is not needed. A pain because I cut off all the batting, which left a white border.  Now the challenge is to trim without cutting the quilt

Tshirt Quilt almost done

Been a while since I posted. Walked away from project for a while but I am back on it. Decided to tie it off to finish and 1/2 way done. Will have for Nick this weekend and will post picture

Next small project is a mug rug - joined Crafsty.com and saw these cute items to make - looks simple and give me a chance to practice quilting techniques.

Stretch my patience

My quilt lay there, on top if the sewing machine where I left it. Has to walk away (actually told to walk away). The stretch of the fabric making it hard to sew.  So it shall sit for a while then I will try again

Quilt top complete

Here is the result of the t-shirt quilt. Top is complete - now for batting, backing and quilting by 9/1!  I hope I can get it done - it will look awesome on Nicks dorm bed.

T-shirt Quilt, continued

It was going well until the last t-shirt. From a shirt that Hammy the Hamster got to and chewed up. Appliqué Is giving me a hard time. The graphic is cool though so my fly chick is being hand stitched!

Mason jar centerpiece

A long time coworker and friend had an event at her house today (Ann M) and here are the centerpieces she made for each table - very clever and pretty!  Love the citrus floating and the message made with beads!

Chalkboards

Chalkboard paint seems to have gained a lot of popularity. Look at what a bunko friend of mine (Pat H) did for her daughters wedding. Beautiful use of old windows!!

Girls just wanna have fun

Great time at Cool Crops in Andover. Here I go again dressing 80s style! It has motivated me to start up my creative projects and post on my blog.
